Follow the steps below to update the module:
Step 1 - Before update the ECU, back up the maps and logs in the module: It's recommended to back up all the important maps and logs contained in the FT450, FT500, FT500LITE, FT550 or FT600 the update won't delete the maps, but will delete the logs.
Step 2 - Download version 4.0 of FTManager: Download the new version in the "Software> FTManager" menu at FuelTech site or CLICK HERE to download the new version.
Step 3: Open the FTManager software and plug the USB cable into the ECU, click in "Tools" tab and then the icon "ECU Updater".
New Features
- FT450 and FT550 compatibility
The FTManager software is now compatible with the new Power FT ECUs (FT450 and FT550). The ECUs share the same software platform and operational features, they have restrictions of use only when specific hardware is required for the function operation (i.e. GearController (power shifts), electronic throttle and accelerometer...).
- Customizable splash screen (FT450/FT550/FT600)
It’s possible to customize the ECU's startup screen using a custom image, the time to display is also configurable.
- Virtual LEDs (FT450/FT550)
In the FT450 and FT550 ECUs it is now possible to set up to 4 virtual LEDs for alerts of different functions. When the LED turns on, the name of the alert is displayed to identify it and it will be on as long as the condition are met. There are two modes for LED operation: flashing or always active. Up to 3 functions per LED can be set, operating independently or related.
- O2 Correction Overlay feature
New feature that allows the user to see and apply all the corrections applied by the O2 closed loop on a log file. In order to use this feature, the main fuel map must be set as advanced (3D).
Based on the log file, all the corrections for the main fuel map are stored and allow the feature to create an average value for each range of the map, smoothening the compensations on the cells around that area.
There are settings that limit the values used for the corrections such as values for idle speed, ECT, IAT and battery voltage.
- Power shift closed loop in sequential gearboxes
The integrated power shift (FT550 / FT600) and Gear Shift Output functions were updated with an option to enable a closed-loop control for the power reduction time (ignition cut and timing retards) when using an analog gear position sensor as gear detection in sequential gearboxes. The closed loop control reads the analog sensor and stops the cut or timing retard when the next gear has been effectively engaged.
- Inclinometer gauges
Inclinometer gauges for pitch and roll angles are now available on the dashboard of the FT550 and FT600 ECUs. They're calculated by the ECU's internal accelerometer.
- Custom pedal and throttle position relation table
Throttle opening curve according to pedal position can now be customized in a table with up to 16 cells.
- New Turbo speed sensor
Added two turbocharger RPM default sensors to measure turbocharger speed. It’s possible to set rotor blade number and sensor internal divider.
- New default pressure sensors
New default PS-500 and PS-3000 pressure sensors.
- New default temperature sensors
New default SS300 temperature sensor.
- Differential fuel pressure mathematical channel
Added a channel in the datalogger that shows differential fuel pressure. Allows better visualization of the increase of the fuel pressure according to the boost increase in the intake manifold.
- Total fuel flow mathematical channel
Added a channel in the datalogger that adds fuel flow from both injector banks and displays it on the log file as the fuel demand of the engine.
Improvements
- Progress bar for the status of map conversion progress during ECU update.
- FuelTech default map no longer associates the O2 sensor to analog input #1 by default.
- Maximum duration of the power reduction limit in the power shift is now 500ms.
- Timing return ramp checkbox for when engine leaves idle condition
- 2-Step ignition cut is now always enabled
-Option to enable transbrake output during 2-Step and/or 3-Step, as also option to use the Staging Control on 2-Step and/or 3-Step.
-Gear detection by analog sensor allows to set next gear detection using average voltage or detection window.
