FuelTech Powers the New Generation of Stock Car Racing with Cutting-Edge FT700PLUS System

May 06, 2025

Porto Alegre, Brazil – May 6, 2025 — Brazilian motorsport technology leader FuelTech has taken a groundbreaking leap in racing innovation with the debut of the new generation Stock Car Pro Series vehicle, now one of the most advanced competition cars in the world. The unveiling took place on May 4 at the iconic Interlagos Circuit in São Paulo, marking a major milestone after 15 years of the previous car platform.

At the core of this transformation is FuelTech’s FT700PLUS, a next-generation Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) developed at the company’s Porto Alegre headquarters, with support from its U.S. subsidiary in Georgia. The FT700PLUS is the electronic brain behind the new Stock Car platform, managing engine systems, sequential transmission, and all onboard electronics with high precision.

“The FT700PLUS not only manages the engine and transmission but also serves as the car’s instrument panel. It features a 12.3-inch integrated screen, onboard cameras, remote communication, and real-time monitoring of vehicle parameters. All of this was engineered in Brazil, backed by over 22 years of our motorsport experience,” said Leonardo Fontolan, CEO of FuelTech Brazil.

The technical rollout involved the assembly and integration of 31 new race cars in a short timeframe, demanding intensive collaboration among teams and suppliers. Development was led by Audace Tech, with FuelTech providing crucial support for electronic systems integration.

In just two short practice sessions, the new cars clocked lap times over two seconds faster than their predecessors. Impressively, more than 15 drivers posted times within just one second of each other, reflecting the new platform's consistent high performance.

This initial round served as a real-world validation of the new setup, with data collected to guide future optimizations throughout the season.

“This is a deeply emotional moment for us. From starting in a bedroom 22 years ago to becoming a globally recognized company with headquarters in both Brazil and the U.S., we’ve always dreamed of becoming the official VCU provider for Brazil’s premier racing category,” said Anderson Dick, Founder and Global CEO of FuelTech.

“What makes this moment even more meaningful is that it coincides with the anniversary of the devastating 2024 flood that struck our Porto Alegre facility. Turning that adversity into a triumph gives us one more reason to celebrate this historic achievement.”

The next round of the 2025 Stock Car Pro Series will take place in Cascavel, Paraná, on May 25, continuing the rollout of the new technical platform. Fans can follow all the championship rounds via the official Pro Series platform.
